Material-Archiv is a network, established in 2007, whose current ten members compile and prepare information about materials and disseminate it to the expert community and the general public. Education and outreach take place in two ways: in the ten physical sample collections of the members, which present the materials as real-world objects, and, closely interconnected, via the contents of the “materialarchiv.ch” database, which makes material expertise freely accessible.
