The Confederation and the cantons are responsible for planning preventive protection measures against threats to cultural property from armed conflicts, disasters and emergencies. A useful basis is the Inventory of Cultural Property of National and Regional Importance (PCP Inventory). It has been approved by the Federal Council and published by the FOCP. Many of the approximately 3400 A-class A objects (of national importance) also meet the requirements for high-quality Baukultur.
